Before and After

We just bought a house in Jefferson. We are so excited to be home owners again. Unfortunately the people that lived here before us smoked. So as soon as we got the keys we came in and deep cleaned, and painted. Fours days of painting the ceiling and walls of the family room, dining area, 2 kids rooms and our room. As you can see below, the previous owners also had very unique decorating ideas. The girls and boys rooms are white, for now. I hope to put some color on their walls this spring. I also am going to paint the bathrooms, kitchen, closets, and laundry room. So here are a few before and after pictures. The only before pictures we have are ones that our realtor got for us early on. And the after pictures are before our stuff got here. Hopefully when we get the pictures on the walls and the rest of the boxes unpacked and out of here I will get some more pictures posted.

Master before.

Our bedroom after.

Family room before. Yes, the walls were light lavender.

Family room after. I know, I still needed to edge.

Dining room before. Lavender walls here too.

Dining room after we painted. Yes, I know the edges still need to be done.

Halloween

Because I'm crazy, I think, I like to have a pumpkin for each of the kids. Then, as I am carving them, I wonder, why did I want so many, I am carving them and cleaning them all. We bought our four pumpkins this year and then Sam brought one home from school. Five pumpkins to carve. Sam ended up letting JJ have her pumpkin from school, which I think he really liked because it was "his size." The girls carved their own pumpkins this year, and have gotten better about cleaning them out. I wasn't to sure about it, but they had a lot of fun doing it, and they did a great job. I asked them what kid of face they wanted and drew it on for them, and they followed the lines. I was really impressed with how well they did. Below is Samantha's on the left, JJ's in the middle and Andrea's on the right.

Riley's
Mine
This is the first year for as long as I can remember that I haven't done fangs on a pumpkin.

Fairy Princess Andrea, Witch Samantha, and Skeleton JJ.

Poor Riley, he came down with something Friday night and just wanted to lay around all day Saturday. He was to sick for Halloween this year.

We started the night by going to my mom's ward trunk-or-treat. The kids had a so much. As soon as we were done JJ happily climbed into his car seat with two little candy bars in his hand.

At the Park

We had a couple of odd warm days here and there in the middle of some cold days at the beginning of October. Perfect weather for a trip to the park. We all had a blast enjoying the weather and being outside.

when grandma has ALL the grandkids over

In a crazy moment that grandma Orr had, she had all her grandkids over for a weekend.

All the kids together for dinner at Papa's pizza.

All the kids lined up for a movie before bed.

Fun at Grandma's

We have been staying with my parents at their house these last couple of months waiting to close on our house. Here are a few hi-lights of things my kids have been doing since my last few posts, a while ago.

Who in the world will do something as silly as empty grandma's drawer filled with canning rings and lids?

Only JJ and Riley. At least they didn't start doing this until the last week at grandma's.

A big pile of leaves MUST be jumped into!! Andrea had lots of fun showing JJ how it's done. JJ just liked to kick the edges of the leaf pile.

A table finds it's way to grandma's house. Then, two little boys discover a great cave for hiding in.

What do you do when you get done playing on the the floor with grandpa? Take a nap of course.

Grandma has made a few of these over the years, it is always a favorite. Riley and JJ fight over who gets to put more buttons in the jar.
